Hey Fellas,

Just added the last bit of Chrome to my truck that I've wanted to add since I've had my truck. This is it, no more addons, now over the next year or two it will be things like Intake and Exhaust. :D

Let me know what you think, of the Covers...

Those are nice. Are they actual metal or chromed plastic?

From these guys. http://www.cap-it.com/

They are a local Company of a larger franchise. The name of the store is the Truck Outfitters. Very fittingly... :D. Yah way to easy to spend bucks in their store.

I was kinda disappointed that they weren't Chrome metal but, at the same time I knew they would be more expensive if they were. They appear to be a high Strength Solid Chrome Plastic. They go on with 3M high Adhesive and I don't think they are coming off.

Hey Blender, I hear yah about the Chrome but, this was the last thing. No more chrome for me. Cept maybe FIPK Chrome and Chrome Mudflaps. :D :D

Thanks for the feedback fellas...

They look cool. Before I looked at the photos, I thought you meant the dumb looking chrome colored euro style tailights.

Hey thanks, yeah I would never put those "ricer" style lights on mine I quite like the stock lights and these just finish them off nicely. I think.

Yeah, I never understood what was wrong with having red tailights...

Careful, Rollingbones has a set of those on his truck.

I also have a set of those "dumb looking chrome colored euro style tailights" except mine are carbon fiber instead of chrome. I dont think they look bad on all trucks, it just depends on the color of your truck. I also have some "dumb looking projector headlights" (which i hate cz they're impossible to align) to match the taillights. I don't think they look too "ricery" haha but some may argue. Heres some pics of my headlights and taillights http://pic.piczo.com/img/i129904979_28388.jpg http://pic.piczo.com/img/i129901981_21776.jpg

Just my two cents, but I think 'euro' lights belong on 'euro' cars......and not on trucks, especially, a truck like the (big manly voice) CHEVY SILVERADO..............

Normal, tough looking is the look we got to go for.....

Actually i was thinking of installing a set of those led tailights with the 1,000000,000000 little bulbs in them with a smoked screen instead of chrome.

If you want class and toughness, get 03+ lights. I absolutely LOVE mine. I've given my 99 ones away

yea, I have the euro's but I like they because they pertty much blend right into my trucks paint. I am thinking about ditching them though for some 03'+ tails.

01silverado03z400.... How well do thoes projectors work compaired to stock? I know mine suck ass but they are a different brand.

I actually think that the new 03+ lights are a bit goofy. IMO. Just my opinion and nothing more.... They've made the actual part that you see at night for breaking much smaller. And there is just something about a blinking Amber light that seems to be more effective than a blinking Red light for turn signals.

Just my :2cents: worth... :D

I'm afraid to agree with you on the '03 tailights, as I seem to be stepping on people's toes. I'm far from the tailight fashion police, but I think the '99-'02 style look better. :2cents:

Still laughing about silveradoking's response. :lol2:

Maybe I should have kept my 99's. If I could find a set off of a 05 GMC I'd buy them.. they have a black outline.

I like the 03-up GMC tailights... They look like the 99-02, but have a black outline instead of the red on ours

Mine are really bright compared to stock but i had a hard time aiming them and making them straight. Theyre so bright tho that everyone on the highway always flashes me because they think I have my brights on. I've tried aiming them down but i still get the occasional flash. My brights are REALLY REALLY REALLY bright. Huge difference from stock.

When I bought my truck it had one tailight with a red outline and the other had a black outline. I guess one of the stock ones was stolen so the previous owner replaced it with a GMC one. I thought it looked kind of goofy so i got some euro's. I think they look nice with the color of my paint.

Where'd you get your projectors?

I bought my projectors at JB's Power Center in Edmonton. They were about 360$. The brand is TYC.

Others I've talked to say their projectors suck. You must have some good quality ones.

Nigel215

yea, Ive seen the TYC projectors on e-bay, the same ones he has but for like $110. I was thinking about getting another black pair, i just wanted to make sure they actually work.

Can you get any pics of them lit up at night? both the actual headlight and also a pic of the road?

I'll have to borrow a digital camera from my dad because i usually use my cell phone to take pics and they turn out in bad quality. So it might take me awhile to post them up, I'll try to have them by tomorrow or the day after. I'll even try to do a comparison with my stock headlights.

I prefer the new chevy taillights over mine. I like that all red. Other than that I don't care for any taillights other than custom led's or caddy's (although they've been done a time too many).

That's the reason I upgraded. I also liked the "bubble" look of them. I'd really prefer a set of 05 GMC lights that have been candied. They look pimp as hell to me. All red, but black outline and smooth lines. Plus, I can't mount my strobes bulbs in the 03+ reverse lights. Theres not enough room for the 1" hole I have to drill.

Well the pictures didnt really turn out that great.... the pictures of the road just turned out to be black and the headlights were just a blur. But after comparing both the headlights at the same time it seems to me now that theyre about the same (my stock ones might even be a bit better). Sorry for letting u guys down. If I ever find a better camera ill let u guys know.
