Brake rotor upgrade

Has anyone put on cross drilled or sloted rotors?? If so did it make a difference? Im going to be towing my Dart with my truck and I want to put those rotors on and a set of ceramic pads on.

I put a set of Brembo slotted rotors (the cross drilled ones can crack) that cost about 100.00 each and a set of NAPA ceramic pads on my 2000 K1500. The factory rotors are terrible and so far the Brembo's have held up well. I can't really tell much of a difference except lack of brake dust and that I feel better that I upgraded. The hot setup would be to replace the 14" rotors with some from Baer etc. But then you would need new calipers and 18" wheels or larger.

what about replacing the rotors and calipers with a set of like 2005 model bigger brakes?

It cost me around 300 bucks for 4 rotors and premium pads for my 99 Silverdildo. You didnt mention what year of truck you have.

If you would like to switch to the larger,later model, I think you will run into 2 problems,if you have 16 inch rims.

1. Later model trucks have larger diameter wheels,which means you may need new rims and tires to allow clearance for the larger diameter brakes.

1. Later models have,I believe,switched back to rear drum brakes,which would make the switch extremely costly,if you presently have rear disc brakes. I already asked about switching the rear disc brakes back to drums. The mechanic smiled and said "Aint worth the cost/effort"
