HELP!!!!
New to the forum and Skylines!!!
Basically just bought a Skyline R33 V-Spec '98 model. Have yet to pick it up on tuesday.
A few questions. The car already has the Nissan 350BHP upgrade. Is this any good??
Also it has a NISMO exhaust and HKS "Smooth Pipe" kit fitted which I think are the intercooler pipes. Also a Blitz induction kit.
Good you guys out there give me a rough idea of the opinions of these items and roughly what BHP i'm running at. Also is the 350BHP upgrade a chip??? And do you reckon it's delimited with that upgrade??
Thanking you in advance

350 BHP upgrade is usually just intakes and exhaust. A boost controller w/ no chip upgrade (just a reset) will give you up to 393 BHP....dyno proven on a '95 R33 V-Spec. That's about the limit on "cheap" bolt on upgrades. It starts to get a bit more expensive from there. The induction kit really isn't necessary until above 500 (where the draw from the turbines can actually cause the stock rubber to begin to collapse). If you have the induction kit, it usually comes with the intakes (which do make a large difference over the stock box). I doubt it has a chip if it's only running 350.

Well it clearly states that the car has had the 350 BHP upgrade in Japan by Nissans themselves.
Do you think they're lieing???

Nissan lie about HP!? Nooooooo after all, they are the same people who say GTRs 'only' have 280HP :D
like 2.7l said, I'd say it's just intake, exhaust, mby downpipe, stiffer bov perhaps. Anything else and it would be more like 380-400hp. I bet it's on the stock ECU aswell, you can always dig around and look at it, see if it's stock.

So what do you think its running at. Also how can you check that the ECU has been uprated or not???
And considering it has the above, with the Blitz induction kit, HKS intercooler pipes and NISMO exhaust what is the likely power output???
Cheers

If they remap the boost, you might be able to get close to 400. You don't really need an ECU till around 550-600 HP. I'm living proof. I'm running a stock computer (with a reprogrammed stock chip) at 520+ flywheel horsies. When I dynoed it, the guy at Autobacs couldn't believe it as he said it maintained the best A/F ratio on a GTR he'd ever seen at the shop.
I would say you are probably right around 350-360. Let me know when you want to go higher....I can give you recommendations up to my level. (I'm a bit overbuilt though:))

I'd say 2.7 is right, without ramapping boost you'd be around 350-370.
Now I'm not sure about this, but isn't the ECU in one of the two metal boxes in your boot? One is ATTESSA and one is ECU? Or are there just two on the R32s, one ATTESSA and one HICAS?

I have two metal boxes in my "boot" as you all say:) One is the Attessa, the other is a rear speaker amp. The ECU is on the left side under the glove box, hidden behind a quarter panel. A lot of people move their aftermarket piggybacks under the seat or to the back etc.....
Don't have one so don't need to worry about it!
