The fuel filter on my 91 toyota corolla AFE engine, is right behind the air filter hose in the engine compartment. To replace it, pop the cap off the gas tank...as if you were gonna fill it up, to relieve the pressure.
For fuel-injected (which I'm gonna guess yours is)
1. Loosen the banjo fitting bolts on both ends of the filter (will probably need a back-up wrench on the fitting at the filter) and disconnect both ends.
2. Remove the bracket bolts from the inner fender and remove the filter assembly from the support bracket.
3. Install the new filter and tighten the bracket bolts securely. Make sure the filter is installed with the outlet facing up.
4. Suggests using new sealing washers-two per banjo fitting-install the banjo fittings and tighten the bolts.
5. The rest is the reverse of the removal. and of course, check for leaks.
