My bro has a '99 GT and wants headers. We've talked to a few people and are being told that short tubes are the best route. He's not going to do anything internal just bolt ons, maybe chip it. What do you guys think is the best set up for street / daily driver? Thanks for the help.

Is it v8 or v6? Ummm If it can pull high rpm say past 6000 shorties. But if it does a lower Rpm say not past 6000 maybe some longers would be better. Just look around and see what respectable people have on their SAME ENGINE and go with that. I dont know enough about your engine.

as far as i know they made a v-6 gt , the long tubes would be my choice , get the x pipe or prochamber from mac and a good set of mufflers ...... the power gains are better and you get away from the crapy design that ford uses on the pass. side header flange .

theidea behind short pipes is tohave it hit the main pipe faster, getting heat away from the engine. Headers produce more heat than stock manifolds, but they take the gases much faster. Ford Racing has great parts for your car, seeing as they made your car, and made the SVT's, and can make much faster than SVT's if they so chose. :bandit:
