well after reading all these gear threads i realized i havent looked at the ring n pin. on my 65. as i said before i got a warmed up 289 bored .30 edlbrock performer 289 intake with crane cam 272d forged internals backed by a rebuilt c4 with shift kit and a 8inch rear (wich i know the 9er is better but if someone wants to give me one il take it lol) anyway i think it has the stock gear in it i think its a 280 or some junk anyway i was wondering about a 355 or 373 wich would be better???? i dont really drag the car...but for a little umph and gettyup on the street without killing speed or milage keep in mind i don have OD so im running 3300 @60mph depending on outside temp. also this 65 is my daily driver.
thank yall for any comments.

If you want a little better performance, go 3.73s. A little better gas milage go 3.55. Its a personal choice, so it depends on the owner. I would go 3.55s, with a small shot of N2O :D Just for a little kick ;) Hell, you already have forged internals, use them.
The biggest problem that year has, is getting the power to the ground. My buddy has a built 65 with a 351W putting down some very good power, but he can only stuff pizza cutter tires on the car, so its a complete waste when trying to launch the car, just some food for thought. If you go 3.73s, its going to be a little harder to plant the power.

Tell your budy he can relocate the leaf springs for more tire room. Re-weld them on the inner side of the rear frame rail. There was a thread about it on TM before they changed, not sure if its gonna be fixed or not.
Also for traction with those cars Caltracs are awsome. http://www.calvertracing.com/
