Error code p0420

My vic is running kinda bad. The error code is p0420. Can anyone tell me what this is before I take it to the shop. I dont want to get screwed.

i work at a shop and just looke it up for u it means that u have a bad catalyst converter its saying that the cataylst system efficiency below threshold (bank1) hope this helps

Thanks Cobra. I looked in the Vic owners manual and it said that the cats are under warranty up to 70k miles. Is that true?

not quite sure ur best bet would be to call your local ford dealler for the info how many miles do u have on her

Cats are under fed emmisions warranty usually 7 year or 7K.
But beware code 420 or 430 doe not always mean your cat is bad.
Many things can cause a code 420.
