Being offered by a memorabilia shop in England. Described as Dave Price Racing 1996 LeMans. For the really hard core GTR fan?

Are you a fan of Harrods (it's overpriced) or the Al Fayed family (they're oogy)? :eek7: Or are you a fan of McLaren cars, which are not mentioned anywhere on the shirt? You might as well buy a shirt that says Mercedes Benz.:iceslolan

Other things to consider:
- the intrinsic value of this item...it is, after all, a shirt, so what would you pay for someone else's sweat-soaked shirt and how many rinse cycles would it survive? Does yellow make you look fat??? :p
- value of item as a keepsake (add in the cost of frame if you plan to hang it on a wall). Still worth it?
- value of item as an investment ie. appreciation potential for resale :2cents:

How much?

£100.00 :uhoh:

If it's new and you were an immense fan of the Harrods car, I might be able to see the justification. However, if it did come off the back of one of these dudes - drycleaned or not - then ewwwww... :headshake

If you think that the shirts are sweaty you should see the driver's helmets! Salt stains anyone?
As far as collecting this type of item - if it doesn't appeal to you, fine, but questioning why someone would have an interest and the value of such items and so on is a little narrow-minded. Don't like it? Just move on!

To the right person perhaps on the order of $500 - just a guess - but people routinely pay that and more for Ferrari items for example. Team jackets from even mediocre F1 teams are $400 and up. Helmets from about $1500 on up, $3500 on up for F1 if authenticated. Used balaclavas, shoes, gloves, rainsuits, it's all out there...
I've sold most all of my stuff but I used to have a couple of shirts from a very famous LeMans team and the team owner's personal cashmere sweater with logo. I've still got a jacket from one of the Porsche GT2 teams from LeMans that I wear occasionally. The stuff I really like are the team jackets with a full embroidery of the car on them but they're pretty unusual now - Benetton used to do their's that way.

Back on Mclarens - I used to have a brochure from the Gulf team with some of their merchandise on it but I think it must have been thrown out. Anyone ever seen it? Wish I had ordered the stuff back then but I had other interests. :banghead:

gulf/team davidoff and team BMW motorsport merchandise seems to be next to impossible to come by...
