hey guys, another clutch question

Hey I've got another clutch question for you guys. I've been having trouble shifting lately, and I know I've posted something like this before, but this one's different. I have an ACT2600, I've replaced the fluid with BG synchroshift this time, it has a symborski shift kit, it has a new slave cylinder, that was pressure bled by the local shop, i've done the vfaq for the shifter linkages... and what it comes down to, is I still grind first and second gear. When it's cold out, and when I first start up the car, it runs like a charm, no problems shifting AT ALL! It's not 'til it starts to heat up, then it's like trying to pull my shifter into a brick wall. Sometimes it goes in and grinds like hell, and then other times it's like the tranny is brand new, it'll slip right in. I want to know what you guys think. I've been thinking about trying one of those 'extended slave cylinder rods', but I'm really short on cash right now. Do you think it would be possible to just add some washers in where the slave cylinder bolts up, to push it towards the shift fork more? Would this have the same effect as the extended rod? Or what other ideas do you guys have for this? And why does it shift so good when cold? HELP!

I don't understand the hot cold thing. Did you check the condition of your ball stud? Is it worn badly? How about the bushing on the clutch pedal. Maybe your tranny is just gone :(

sounds like a synchro problem to me...mine did the same thing until it finally blew a hole in the bell housing. take a look http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=434372

also, when it's cold out, it should be a bit harder for you to shift into gear. should feel stiffer in the cold. i noticed on my old tranny, when the car would warm up completely it was a bitch from 1st to 2nd. someone told me this was because the tranny fluid is completely warmed up and thins out. not sure if that was the case or what. i changed the gear lube at one point and eliminated my grinding for a good week straight. then eventually my tranny finally went to DSM heaven.

So should I drain out the BG Synchroshift and put something heavier weight in it, cause BG is pretty thin stuff... Cause it seems like when it heats up the tranny fluid becomes more viscous and starts to grind. What's a heavier weight oil i can use?

I don't think you can help messed up synchros with a heavier weight oil, but since it seems like your tranny is on it's last leg just try it and see ;) .
You might get by a little while longer.
