97 contour (instument panel no lights)

OKay this is my problem.Im working on a 97 contour gl the dimmer switch for the insturment panel was removed.Since than the high beams dont work,theres no lights in the instrument panel,the coolant temp gauge dont work.I checked the highbeams to see if the bulbs were burnt there not.I checked the voltage at the plug with the bulb removed and i have 12volts.Theres also lil more than 2 ohms resistance in the circuit.my automotive knowledge tells me thats to much.does anyone know what circuits are in line with the dimmer switch.Or possibly know were i can get a wiring diagram online of the instrument panel circuit.any suggestions welcome. :banghead:

so all that stopped working when you removed the dimmer switch? why not just put the dimmer switch back in?

Cause im not the who removed it.Someone else touched the car first and thought that they knew wat they were doing. Which deff was not the case.any idea on were to get a wire diagram?

Chiltons or Haynes manual.

nope. Not unless you want to buy them online. There isnt any websites that just provides scans of Chiltons or Haynes manuals to the general public to my knowledge mainly due to Copyright laws and of course, Chiltons and Haynes wouldnt make any money if that was the case.

We have a guy on contour.org that sells CD service manuals for $8 a piece. I believe they have the wiring schematics, but I would make sure. He goes by the name Todras. Send him a PM and see whats up.

And just an FYI, contour.org is a billion times better than this poor excuse of a car forum. If you have any other techinical questions, I would take them there. Every conceivable question has been asked and answered.
