Ok i think i MAY hit up autozone tomorow, and so i might as well get a new filter (gonna see if they got carpet)
and so which k&n filter do i need (i want one of those cone ones, that look like intake filters u know?)
and how do i install it, just like bolt it onto the existing stuff?

You could just get the K+N panel filter and bust out some nice large holes in the box....

Same thing your cone filter does....allow more airflow into the intake.

Be careful with those cone filters. Cheap ones don't filter small enough particles, and even with the good ones, if you put too much oil on them, they will ruin your $160 Mass Airflow Sensor.

basic installation is pretty much bolt-on. The cone filters are reuseable cloth, and the only way they stop dust is by coating them with oil, otherwise, small dust particles would get into the engine and cause damage. Unless you like impressing the guys at Jiffy Lube, or are planning other mods, CAI's aren't worth much on there own.
