:screwy: I was wondering the side effects of a bad water pump on a 91 eagle talon TSi..... like a water pump that is about to go.... I have noticed some wierd things recently.... normally when an engine and tranny get rebuild, wouldn't you think the motor mounts would be replaced as well? and wouldn't a water pump be another thing that was replaced? i don't know, i am starting to get worried that i got gipped on this car.... it hasn't ran longer than a week without a problem.... So any info on water pump problems;how hard it is to replace if it is bad, i would be very grateful, this hasn't been very fun, and i feel kinda bad for my neighbors :naughty: who do the work on my car, replacing stuff and such.... Thanks, Aaron

The waterpump went on my Talon at around 90k miles. In order to change it, you gotta take the timing belt and all that crap off, jack up the motor and take the one motor mount out so you can work on it.
You'll definetly know its going when you hear funny noises coming from the belt. (The pulley on it came apart for me, lol.) When that belt comes off, you will lose your power steering also. Ummm... I can't really think of any other side effects...

What belt came off? the one from the altenator? or the power steering belt... its my altenator belt that keeps fucking up... but i don't know we have been throw 3 altenarors, 3 belts, we thought it was over heating at first, but oh well... today my altenator almost caught fire.... all the shavings are around the altenator and such.... im just starting to get pissed

Ummm, thats probably not good. I think the altenator might have been on that too, I can't remember. If you keep having problems with it that much then something is really wrong. Check all your pulleys to make sure none of the bearings are going bad. How many miles do you have on it?

Well, the guy i bought from said it was rebuilt, and had 9K when i bought it, i have put a little under 2k since then. it was rebuilt supposdly... but i don't know like it shows signs of being rebuilt, like i opened my oil cap to look in, the surface that i could see looked to be resurfaced, but the mounts weren't replaced, but they're new freeze plugs everywhere.. and some of the freeze plugs would be impossible to get on without the engine being out. So i don't know i'll try to post some pics

Well, the engine could have been rebuilt but maybe they didn't put a new waterpump in since that one still worked... I donno though.
