Lifting a 1994 2500 4x4

I'm looking at buying a '94 2500 SLE 4x4 with 7.4l (454) and manual trans. Can I lift this truck up a couple inches (2 to 4 inches is all I'm looking for)? When I look at liftkits from Superlift etc they say "not for split driveshafts". This truck has the 2-piece rear shaft with a carrier bearing. Does this mean I can't lift it?
If I can't add a kit, and just crank up the front torsion bars an inch, can I get away with 1" blocks in the rear or would I need to replace or add springs?
