Check out cylinder #3....these valvesprings are going to hate me.

Got the driver's head torqued down today. Good feeling when I turned the motor over by hand and the valves cleared.

The closest the motor has been to under the car....

And today....

Front cover is on, power steering pump is on, removed stock clutch master cylinder, cleaned rear cover, removed stock torque arm. Didn't spend much time out there today....damn weather was crap until about 3PM.

http://home.comcast.net/~mrluos/Swap122.JPG

This piece had so much flex, no wonder they say a good torque arm is a good thing.

Mr. Luos

Well, I don't need it to be running. No actual schedule. Would be nice, but I am making sure everything is done right instead of rushing.

Stock is 199/209 498/497 119
Lunati was 226/234 554/575 112
New is 248/254 629/622 113

First set of numbers is the duration at .050. Basicly how long the valve stays open.
Second set of numbers is the lift. How far the valves move.
Last number is the Lobe Separation Angle. The lower the number the more lope overall.

Some good cam info here...

I <3 Lope :)

Mr. Luos
10-30-2005, 09:20 PM
Well...lope isn't determined by just the LSA. The duration and lift both add to it. That is why the new cam has a higher LSA....to make it driveable on the street.

1.8's aren't all that great of an upgrade. Even more so when I am already pushing .629" lift.

The stocker rockers are 1.7...and I have them already. New rockers that would be 1.7/1.8 would run me $500. The stockers are just fine for what I am doing with this motor. Spinning them over 6800 would be trouble though.

LOL, Cowboys HAHAHAHAHAHA. They havent exactly had the toughest season this year. I will give them credit for winning but its not because they are good or better than the other team.
