You need to learn to do some research. And was it necessary to change your user name just because some people were making fun of you (because you lied)?
Realistically; it depends how much you're willing to spend and how much power you're looking for. Figure these questions out and then go from there. There are a ton of different ways you can go about making power, answering those questions will narrow it down greatly.
Edit - this should also help: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=118785&page=1&pp=20 (especially 91civicDXdude's post on the first page and Kris' post on the 2nd).

Well i know that i want to get a b18c and a turbo kit but i wanna know is will that be enough Hp to out run a V8 and will that blow my engine with stock parts (on the b18c).

you can......well someone who knows what they're doin can build a GSR to outrun any V8 on the block. The problem is that you don't know what you're talking about and i REALLY doubt you have to money for a GSR.....let alone a built turbo GSR! You need to research so that you can post on AF w/o sounding like you don't know what you're talking about.

What's your budget......that's really going to determine if you can outrun anything

Yep so what can i do with that money that dosent have to cause me to change my engine bay around. cause i know i can get a GSR B18c Turbo cause she already told me ( my mom ) but i wanna know can that outrun a V8. Like blow it out the water or neck and neck in a street race. Cause i can do the swap my self and put the turbo on cause my friends dad is a mechanic so i got that coverd. I just dont want to have to change my engine bay around.

People who are too lazy to do a search and find their own answers, don't deserve help. Between these 2 combined threads, you have all the answers you need.

so you want to swap a b18c into a '88 civic, then turbo it, but you don't want to change around your engine bay. Hmmm, interesting.

Do u think that i can put a H-series in my car without modification.
CivicSpoon
10-29-2005, 12:10 AM
No, you won't be able to, and you probably wouldn't be able to do the swap. Stick with the b-series; though I believe you have to push out some of the engine bay a little to clear the alternator (or crank pulley?). If you're seriously thinking of doing this yourself, then you better start doing a ton of research (key word in research is search).

OMG the point of swapping is not to "outrun a V8" your focus when swapping is to do a quality swap, and when it involves turbo you need to set an original power goal. for a B18(GSR) you could try 240 maybe? I think its good on stock internals but someone corrrect me. Anyway, The B18 will cost around $3000 and the turbo is basically limitless. But a decent setup with GOOD fuel management and a GOOD tune (around $2,000) is essential. I doubt you know what I just said. You need to search. Stop being lazy. If you would search you would know why we do engine swaps. Add about $1,000 for repairs/replacements and more for any upgrades you wil be doing. This is not a job for the uninformed. Also, just because someone else does it for you doesnt mean that you know anything at all about it. Which is very dangerous and will not make you many friends. Its people with alot of money and no common sense or knowledge that annoy the rest of us.
