Senta antenna removal/disassembly

My daughter has wrecked her 2000 Sentra, 6 days after getting it, and I am trying to replace the front fenders, among many other things. I can't get the antenna mast apart where it goes through the fender. The old fender was shot so I cut out the antenna but I still can't get it apart. Any ideas ?? Thanks

did you ever figure out the trick to getting it apart?, i, too, am having serious problems getting the base off the fender- please e-mail me with any help you can- [email protected]!!

well, i did finally get it apart! (i also never noticed how old this post is!) it actually does unscrew, but i had to get a REALLY BIG screwdriver, and it fought me every turn!
