Wow, were do I start!! I bought my 2001 Lincoln LS with 49500 miles 1 1/2 yrs ago it now has 89000 miles on it. I can honestly say it has spent alot of time in the shop getting fixed!! First the 3 of the coils, then most of the front end parts had to be replaced and all of the work done was covered under warranty Thank God!! I actually love my car, it looks awesome, it drives awesome (when i get to drive it!!)! But the real kicker is I had to take it in cuz the drivers side window fell inside the door, how embarrassing!! Then I noticed that when I shifted from park to reverse it definitely had quite a bite!! The whole back end of the car squatted down. Imagine if u didn't have to put your foot on the brake?? You would definitely go 4 a joy ride!! Anyway the shop has had my car now since Oct 5th and still not going to replace my transmission!! They have replaced a couple of different parts up to now and still deny that it definitely needs a new tranny!! Wow is this rocket science?? I have been begging to get my car back and in place of my LS that have given me a FOCUS to drive and act like I should be privleged since I dont have to pay for it past the 10 day reimb!! Has anyone else had this same problem and if so what fixed the problem??? Please help!!

Don't know about the tranny issue, but we've all dealt with the failed window regulators, coils, and valve cover gaskets.

Sounds like your delaership works about like mine. Hang in there and don't take "no" for an answer. Next time something comes up, take it elsewhere, if possible.

I've owned my LS for about 2 months and just got it back from having the drivers window fixed a couple of weeks ago. My rear window fell inside the door today. At this rate my payments might as well be 600 a month.

So what was the cause of the window falling in? I am sure it will happen to me since everything else has with this POS.

The window regulator gearset cracks and strips. There have been three revisions to the part over the years. The final revision seems to have solved to issue. If you get a chance to inspect the replacement parts, make sure thay are metal (vs. plastic). The original ones are/were plastic and would fatigue with a lack of use or excessive upward torque (like trying to lower a window that's frozen shut).
