Changing Starter

My dad and I are installing a new starter on my 94 Z. It seems pretty much straight forward but if there is any advise that would make it easier or faster, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Check to see the new one is level when it is on, if not it will grinde or drag. If not level put shims in it.

take your time and get a shop manual.............oh yeah and dont screw up jk

To clarify, the purpose of the shims is to achieve the proper depth of the starter drive gear to the flywheel/flexplate. best way is to measure the depth of the starter mounting block (and any shims) that were on the starter that came off the car assuming it didn't sound like a turbo with a field mouse stuck in it.

I'd die laughing if I was driving down the street and saw someone under their car with a level to install a starter :)

it's very simple... 2 wires, 2 bolts....
