I am thinking about buying a set of 31" x 10.5" tires for my Jimmy. I live in Northern Michigan so its nice to have a 4wd for winter cuz we get a lot of snow. But someone told me that these tires wont be good for winter because they are so wide but someone else told me that they would be great. So what do you guys think cuz i dont want to waist the money if they are not going to work. Thanx for the input.

Big tires with wide tread blocks do not work well on ice. They work decently in deep snow, but still far from optimal. There are a few Off Road tires built for snow use, but you'd probably be just as well off with the stock tires in the winter.

well i just bought this jimmy and the guy i bought it from wanted to keep the tires that were on there, so right now it has two differnent size tires. And i can get these tires for a really really good deal and its all i can afford so i just want to know if i will do ok during the winter

You'll slip and slide a lot on the slightest bit of ice, but depending on the depth and width of the tread you should to well in snow. Generally you want to go with narrower tires in the winter so you have more wieght on a smaller contact area which will help keep you from sliding around.
