Mainly RWD GSX, Stupid Question, yet Interesting.

What would happen if you put a pair of slicks o the rear wheels and a pair of skinnies on the front in your GSX? Wouldn't that make it mainly RWD since the front wouldn't get much traction, sending the power to the rear wheels.
A friend of mine actually started talking about it and came up with the idea. I thought it was stupid at first but then i started thinking about it and to me at least it seems to make some sense.

Why would you want RWD when you already have AWD?

Yeah I don't really understand what the point would be. I also think you would mess the car up pretty quick (something about the viscous coupling between front and back).

Exactly my thoughts.

Rwd>>>>Awd
If your into racing at the track a rwd is by far the best platform to use.

If your putting down huge horsepower and have traction issues just get 4 drag radials. Putting most of the power to the rear is a bad idea on a dsm because the transfer case is notorious for exploding.

we started talking about it because we were talking about someone who spent a **it load on an AWD to RWD conversion, and like UnderEstimate Me sayd, RWD>AWD when it comes to some forms of racing (although with the skinny fronts...).

Yup the fastest dsm is rwd.
