Question concerning projector headlights

Hello everybody. I am kinda new to this so I don't know if I am doing things right. Anyways back on topic. Yeah I just installed new halo projector headlights, which I purchased from Ebay, and I don't know anything about them. I mean I HAD to buy them because my previous ones were just not working anymore. Anyways, I installed these at first and now I'm kinda skeptical about what I did. Here is a picture of it. http://www.symmicauto.com/images/auto/4746.jpg

OK about three or four questions:

1.) Which part of the light is supposed to be on as the low beam? The H7 one or H3 one? Which is the high beam? (Mine are different bulbs from the picture, I have a H3 bulb and an HB3 Bulb)

2.) If the sphere/dome/H3 bulb is for low beam then is the ring surrounding the sphere thingy supposed to be the one to light up or the actual sphere/dome supposed to be where the light comes out from? I have seen many pictures of where it's the outer ring thats lit but when my lights are turned on, the sphere lights up only and not the ring surrounding it. So which is supposed to be on or lit or whatever?

3.) When I turn on the high beams, are both lights supposed to come on or just the other pair ALONE that is different from the low beam? Because as I stated before, the low beam for me right now is coming out of the sphere thingy so when I turn on the high beams the other light (H7 area in picture for me) comes on ALONE but it doesn't seem to show ANY light ahead of me, it only shows VERY little ahead of me and shows very bright light on the side mostly. Same when I turn on my low beams, it shows very far ahead of me, but not very widespread as around my peripharal (sp?) vision area if you will.

Is there any ways to fix ANY of these problems?? if there is, ANY help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much for your time!

1. ok, first thing. there are a couple of different sets that are sold on ebay. in one set, the outside light is the low beam. in the other set, the inside light is the low beam. I *believe* that the low beam in your headlights is the outside bulb. How did I come up with this? The only projectors that I have seen where the low beam has the projector is with the dual halo lights. Since you only have one halo, I think that your low beam is the light without the projector. to figure out which is the low and which is the high, just turn the low beams on and see which lights up.

2. the ring around the sphere/dome thingy is called a halo. the halo has completely seperate wiring. you will have to splice the turn signal wires to get power for the halos.

3. well, i seemed to have answered the first question without reading all of the questions first. the lights will come on seperately. say when you go to high beams, only the outside will light.

all in all, it seems that you lights are working fine except for the halos, which don't work b/c you didn't hook the up. good buy though. im looking into the double halo ones.

see again NATURALLY when I first hooked everything up, it came out to be this:

Low Beam:Projector light bulbs but NOT halo, Its just light coming out of the Purple dome/sphere! no lightness coming out of the ring or the "halo" around it at all. its just always off. Now should the light be coming out of the halo ONLY or should it come out of the Dome/sphere thing ONLY or BOTH?

High Beam: The OUTER lights come on. Now you stated before that maybe it should BE the outer lights as the LOW BEAM but when I turn those on, it doesnt seem as if it will reach far enough to show out in front of me. just seems like for added light and for the sides, unless they need adjustment but doubt it. It doesn't seem to point out in front of me AT ALL. It seems quite brighter than the others as well.

Now with THIS information, anyone please tell me what do you think I should change?? what should I switch around to make it RIGHT? Thank you!

you have to independantly wire the halos for them to come on. as of right now, they are not getting power b/c you don't have them hookup to a power source. thats the reason they are not working.

Low Beam: feel lucky that you got a set where you will actually be using the projector. FYI, the sphere/dome is the projector. what it does is, it "projects" the headlight to that you have better lighting. To hookup the Halos, most people slice into the turn signal wires to get the power. So when the turn signals come on(which is whenever you turn the headlights on), the halos will also come on. once you have the halos connected. they will be on whenever the turn signals are on, no matter whether you have the High beams or low beams.

High Beam: yours are working correctly. you want the high beams to be the lights WITHOUT the projector. Why? how often do you use your high beams? not very often. many people are stuck with buying headlights where the projector is on the high beams. therefore, the projectors are pretty much useless b/c they never use their high beams.

While I agree with that statement, if you own those style projectors you would know that you dont want the projector to be your low beam. I bought some almost exactly like the ones pictured, and the H3 bulb just isnt enough power to project enough light to really do much. What I have done is spliced both the high and low beam lights togeather, upgraded my wireing harness to larger gauge, and upped my headlight fuse so that both high and low beams are on all the time. THIS is a crazy combination, especially if you have a good set up lights. However, if i could do it all over again, i would have saved the money and converted to HID because no matter what anyone may tell you, there is no conventional bulb that can produce that awsome 8000K fireball.
