How am I supposed to get out of this?

Ok, so I joined the show choir at my school..... I am going to kill myself. Everyone talked about how it was fun and whatnot, but it sucks. We dance around like a bunch of fairies. I can not just up and quit because unlike other activities or sports, I am actually written into the show with choreography and stuff. In other words, it is not possible even to try to quit. I NEED to get out of this though, I am not going to do it for the next 4 months, I hate it. I was thinking of faking an injury like applying a cast to my leg or somthing and using crutches for the next 6-8 weeks and say I broke my leg (buying me enough time that I'd be so behind they would let me quit). But then my parents would know I did that because they would have no hospital bills to pay. I don't really want to actually break my own leg, cause that would just suck and I don't want to risk any actual complications. What could I POSSIBLY do to get out of this? Could I wait until I go on this college trip coming up, cast myself up with the first aid cast stuff you can buy, and say they didn't charge me because it was taken care of some other way? I am really annoyed. What the hell am I going to do?

My advice is you should suck it up and do it. It'll be an experience. And, it's your own fault for signing up for it. So stop whining.

Just keep missing them...blame it on work, family emergencies, car accident, anything. If you're not there, they'll eventually end up cutting you from it.

If not, fake the leg. It seemed like a good idea to me. It doesn't even have to be a break. Wrap some ace bandages on there and you've got yourself a bad sprain. Pretend to fall in a hole or something.

Dude, I was on a band scholarship in college. But you also had to be in the "singin' and dancin' " part or they would pull my full ride. Suck it up and go for it. The girls involved alone should be worth it. Alot of the girls that are band geeks in the music room are freaks in the bedroom. I'm 5'9" and 200lbs of backwoods redneck. hey, there is no getting out of this respectably. i know of several instances where people tried to quit, even VERY early in the season like this situation. the people who just put there foot down and said "screw this" got public chastisement and were shunned for the rest of the year. i deserve that if i quit, but i want to get around it. plus all of those cases were with people who were just in the general group, THEY ARE WRITTEN INTO THE show, and not at all easily replacable. the director has the exact number of men and women because we have dance partners and shit. now, in addition to all of this, I have a solo in a song and stuff, which means there is no way in hell i can quit. i am so screwed. in any other situation i would be happy to either tough it out, or talk to the director and be like "wassup, this really isn't what i imagined". i was going to fake the break (and still might), but my parents are going to know, and people will be talking to them. i was then going to fake a really bad sprain or somthing that wouldn't require me to have a professional inspection because i wouldn't go to the hospital, but then that wouldn't put me up long enough to get really behind. like i mentioned before, i am going on this trip soon, could i buy some casting supplies while i am away, hook myself up a cast and some crutches, and say that i broke it while i was away and got fixed up by some nurse who apparently didn't charge my parents because they mysteriously never got a bill? how is this going to work? i am so screwed.

ok, now i am really screwed. i tried casting my leg up and stuff, but i did a sheisty job casting around the cotton so it cracked while i was walking on it today.... it turned out that the assistant choreographer is getting her masters in Orthopedic Surgery. She knew it was not a legit cast and now the whole show choir is pissed off at me. So i might get out after all, but maybe not.
