Installing a Hitch

Hello I need help. I just bought a 99 jeep wrangler sahara. I just got a hitch for it. It has the skid plate for the gas tank and transfer case. Do I have to take off the fuel skid plate to get those two top bolts on? Is there any other way? If you have any advise I could sure use it.

if you are talking about the bolts on the rear crossmember, you shouldnt need to drop the fuel tank skid. You just need to be tenacious. Its a tight fit so try different approaches. I dont know if you are sticking the bolt in from the rear or front, I would put a flat washer then the nut inside the crossmember. Tape the nut to a wrench, put grease in a socket to hold the nut in place, tack weld the nut to a piece of rod and feed it in there.
