Need Help with Rubbing Compound!

I recently painted my FTO in Pure White and I have waited a day or two over a week for the paint to sit tight just as Guiddy's instructions had said.

For some reason when I am cutting today, I still can't get rid of that orange peel effect. Its still there! :angryfire

I am terrified at the thought of rubbing into the primer and so, I have gone over it a few times both soft and hard when I got frustrated with the results. It doesn't seem to be going away! I want that nice glass/mirror look just as Guiddy's Subaru.:mad:

HOW!?!?! WHY!?!?!:cry: :help:

I forgot to mention that with the already attempts to polish the body, it has made the orange peel a lot finer, but its still not GONE! :mad: I don't want to rub into the primer trying to get the shine. Is there anything I can do?

Rubbing compound wont get rid of the orange peel...you will be there for ever.
You will need to spray it again, or, lightly sand the car with 1500-2000 grit paper, then use the compound

you can use very thin strips of masking tape to cover the hard edges of the car before you start wet sanding. thats what i did on my calsonic skyline. worked like a charm. i had the same reservations you had before i started sanding too...

I went with a very very very light going over with 2000grit paper then rubbed a bit harder...nice shine!

There is one thing I'm worried about, the grooves. On the FTO there are some grooves [ie. side skirts are molded with the body, therefore that is one of the grooves] that are hard to rub and it is almost an outline of the orange peel.

I have tried using a q-tip as to Guiddy's instructions but it doesn't seem to be doing anything....

The polished section on top of the groove is already as much polished as possible, so if I can't get into that groove and keep polishing on top of it it will go sinking into the primer.

Any suggestions as to how to rub in there without going over the top section?:(

i said it before... protect the edge with masking tape and sand away. works for me

The wax wont make it shine, you have to use the rubbing compound first which will bring the gloss out in the paint.
