At this point, all you'll get is guesses. There is bairly any info out on the new Civic other than a 6-speed manual transmission and 198hp. Honda doesn't even have any info on their web site yet. I don't recall seeing any info on torque or weight. Wait a month or so when more info is out.

Torque is 140, weight is about 2900. Honda will not be as fast but will be lots more reliable. The Dodge can be made fast (12s) for cheap.

i'll take kill myself and hope I get to heaven and drive a 07 GT 500.

SRT-4 > honda

Honda is just doing this to piss me off no one else I swear to god. I'm not even going into my rant about honda but trust me its a plot to drive me mad.

There is no comparrison do you know how much torque the 05 SRT-4 came with. Not to mention the HP is greater as well. The numbers dont lie. Dodge did a great job a making a huge power plant and shoving it in the ugliest body possible.

honda still wins in reliability and fuel efficiency :)

how does it win in reliability? The SRT-4 hasn't been out for that long, and considering there have been a few SRT-4's with 400+hp on stock motor I'd say they're built pretty stout.

Sorry, Honda's going down the hole.

yeah the civic was never a sports car. but in anything other than racing I would choose the Civic.

Estimated 0-60 for Civic SI is 7.3 seconds, 0-60 for an SRT-4 is 5.7 (I think.)

No doubt they can hold a lot of hp, but the majority of long term tests have had some issues with it. Consumer's reports doesn't recomend it, I'm pretty sure it got a solid black mark in reliability every year since it's been out.

SRT's do tend to have more than their fair share of problems not to say they're unreliable, but they're the new age DSM...fast and cheap, but if you're not careful.....it breaks!

At least the DSMs looked good. The Neon is still a Neon, in whatever configuration you get it in.
Let's compare:
-Both the new Si and SRT-4 have stupid-looking spoilers
-The Si is still a Honda, so over time, you can bet your pink slip that the Neon will have more mech problems than the Honda.
-When you want to get a more prestigious car, you can sell the Honda for a heck of alot more than the Neon.
-Performance potential....Neons are powerful, but if I wanted brute force, I'd buy an STi (we don't get EVOs up here in Canada), I'd much rather live with the new Si on a daily basis than the Neon. More refined.

Stoplight performance is a fleeting reward. As you get older, certain things become more important, like comfort, amenities, value, and overall quality. The Honda has these.

The SRT-4 scores low in reliability statistics because the majority of people who buy this car are the type of people who drive hard. Whereas the Civic is bought by the entire range of people, everyone from 16 yr old girls to 90 year old geezers. So that's why the SRT-4 has lower reliability statistically. I had a Neon for 5 years and didn't have a single problem with it. Not one repair needed, except for regular maintanance.

SRT-4 is a neon with more power than it can handle (if you drive them hard). They have alot of front end problems with axles and camber. If you want one, wait until they get the bugs worked out of them in a few years.

They stopped making them in 2005 - 03-05 was the only years with the later years having more power and LSD. The car is made for one reason and one reason only to get the piss beat outta it. They are bringing the srt-4 label back as a wagon wit 300 hp in 07. Such a mess............
