my step dad just bought a 70 or 71 boss stang and the body is freaking clean with the original interior well the only thing wrong is the engine is shot, well my step dad wants to put his 1995 f350 truck engine in it. Can you put the 460 engine into the stang? it looks like it has the room for it. And i know well need to stiffen up the frame and new tranny, driveshaft and rear end

a 460 is the same as a 429 with a deeper stroke, so yes it will fit. But please rebuild that 302, if it's a 70' then its the most beautiful car in the world and i will gladly sell you my soul for it.

does anyone know how much hp/tq the 460 engine from a 1995 f350 is pushing?

Not much, 275 tops. My '95 351W was only 235 stock. Edelbrock intake/750-800 CFM 4-barrel carb and a good cam would fix most of that.

What kind of boss is it? 302 or 429? Probably worth fixing the old motor if it's a true boss car...

Not hardly....

a 1500, would have either a 318 or 360. Neither of which will be pumping out 300hp from the factory.

that dodge is new and the 460 has never been given much horsepower in any form. But the factory horsepower is not important, its the potential you have to look at. The boss 302 was a 290 horse and was badass. C&D called it the best thing to ever come from Dearborn. If you plan on putting that motor in near stock, you will just slow it down and will have wasted your time. :2cents:

No were not going to put it in stock, i was just wondering how much hp/tq the 460 engine came with. He's planning to completely rebuild the engine with all the works he says he wants it to push out atleast 500rwhp.

Agreed. Besides, at least the 460 has some low-end, every hemi I've driven feels like a DOHC 4.6, no ass under 3500 RPM. Very bad for a truck motor.

I still maintain that a factory boss engine has more potential, even just for the coolness factor.

Of course, you could always just send me the old motor, I'm sure I could find some use for it....
