SLP Loudmouth, a guy I know had it on a 94 Z, and I loved it.

LOL j/k... just wanted to post that :) I'd say look at www.ls1sounds.com for whatever LT1 files you can. I ended up going with a cutout instead(basically just dumps before the muffler... only $30 too) and sounds great.

If I was going to go with a different exhaust I'd say go with the SLP loudmouth. I haven't heard one on a LT1, but they sound mean on a LS1.
Xenostalgia there is nothing wrong with flowmaster mufflers. I would take one over a borla system any day of the week. You can get any muffler to match your needs. The older I get the more I want quite sounding mufflers until you have your foot in it. If you want a really loud car get put dual exhaust all the way from the header back and use flowmaster original 40 series on it. My dad but those on his 409.

Except for the fact that they flow at the bottom of the barrel. The only thing they have going for them is they tend to sound okay. Not on the later model Camaro's though.
I would go with anything but SLP or Flowmaster. Blowmasters don't flow, and SLP would rather tell you to fuck off than help you with a problem.
Magnaflow would be a good choice.

im torn between magnaflow/flowmaster or just getting a cutout. But then should I get just a regular cutout or invest in a electronic cutout. SO MANY CHOICES..........I CANT TAKE IT!!!
so thats why I havent done anything with my exhaust for the past few months......its got a flowmaster mufler on there now but it their realy quiet series muffler. But it sounds ok(for a quiet muffler) and isnt over bearing. Thats what leans me toward the cutout. That way I can go loud and then very easily go into stealth mode(for those early morning when i need to sneak into the house......So anyways I just wanted to share that with you all.....in case someone was wondering.....

a hole that you can put in your exhaust pipe that you can cap off. Goes before the muffler and sometimes before the cats. go to jegs.com and search for it and youll see a picture of one.

Here is the cutout itself:

I have the electronic valve(the shiney silver part), but if you purchase just the cutout, it will come with a plate, gasket, and 3 wing nuts for you to crawl under the car and cap/uncap it. I chose the electronic part for ease of changing my tone... so with the flip of the switch:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/flatlander757/Car%20Related/E-cutout/003.jpg
I've gotten tons of compliments on it, though at first I thought it sounded like a dump-truck  It grew on me and I love it, though I think long tubes will make it much... meaner  I love how I can pull up to a light with it closed, a ricer pull up, rev... I rev with it closed... he's thinking "hmm, stock" then I'll open it up before I nail it and it sounds like all hell is breaking loose compared to the rev he first heard :iceslolan
I got the cutout for $30, and the electronics for I think $150, both from www.thunderracing.com
It cost me $25 to get the cutout welded in, and I did the electronics myself. It was very simple, here is a basic diagram of where the wires are run... Just as a side note I used the negative(black) wire from the cigarette lighter and the positive(red) wire from the light under the shifter plate.

So as a result I need to turn my lights on to open or close the cutout. I like it that way so at least during the daytime my idiot passenger can't fiddle with it :lol2: I only close it at night though when I'm coming home late and don't want to PO the neighbors.
It sounds absolutely best giving it a short rev and while accellerating at WOT. Which is where it really counts

I like the cutout idea. Real loud every day gets old fast. I like for my cars to sound good, no popping when I let off of the gas, but throaty when I stomp on it. A loud ass drone just ruins the ride for me, but I live in the country so it's a 10 mile drive to go into town. At 70mph on the interstate that gets annoying, but everybody has thier own preferences.
