lol why do you need a performance STARTER??? they all do the same thing...turn the flywheel/flexplate to start the car...there is absolutely no need for a performance one...i dont even see why companies would bother creating them...

cuz companies make starters with stock oem everything and specs and slap a GTR sticker on it and sell them to idiots that dont know the difference (not calling you an idiot ruffchem cuz you havent bought it yet lol) and make like 100 bucks extra off what they normally sell just for shits and giggles

Or maybe he wants one because everything oe on these cars sucks ass so an upgrade on anything would be nice. I look at replacing things on the car as a chance to get stuff that is much better quality and has nothing to do with GM.
Battery goes dead. Ding, optima red/yellow top.
Brake pads take a crap. Ding, Hawk performance pads.
Why would I have something crap break and put crap back on it when I can spend a few extra bucks get something that might last longer and have a touch better performance.
Or maybe he just wants that extra second of start time but that is the way I look at things. So try and not give a guy such a hard time unless you have already looked at the situation all the way around.

shows how much you guys know...personally i PICKED a 2000 2.4 starter to put on my quad because it is almost 10 lbs lighter than the stock one! ....so....dont we feel silly now????

the point is no one even considered there might be a better one out there..when someone with an earlier year cav askes me if the starter makes a differce OR they say their starter went out i tell them to replace it with one off a 2000z its LIGHTER ...10lbs is quite a bit considering some people remove their WHOLE back seat to lose that much....i dont mean to rant i just hate seeing threads where answeres could have been simple but instead you see thread after thread of " maybe he wants to start 1sec faster :p" ... know what i mean?
