Your thoughts on jacking/jack stand placement

So, I'm getting ready to attempt an oil change here soon. I have a floor jack and a pair of jack stands. I'm wondering where is a good spot to place the jack and also where to place the stands. The stock jack has spots to place it behind the wheels, but that doesn't work well with the floor jack (or the stands) because of those pinch welds there. Any ideas?
