malfunction indicator light

i just recently had my aem cai put on my 02 civic and now my malfunction indicator light is on. is there anybody that can tell me how to get this thing to turn off or do i need to take it to the dealership. also the bypass valve buy or dont buy.

bypass valve makes the intake useless of the little power it offers, just be careful of big puddles and stuff. The indicator light may be because of the extra air from intake, i think you're supposed to either reset your ecu or idle your car for 10 min....but then again I'm not sure

...and how's the cai? did you notice a difference with it? I'd be careful with the warranty...being a new car

yes, always reset your ecu. Pull out the fuse for a while, then let it idle.

reset your ECU, worm up your car, disconect the NEG. battery terminal for 15 min., reconect the NEG. battery terminal, start the car(DO NOT TOUCH THE GAS) let it idle for 5 min., turn off the car, then restart again and take it for a drive. If the light is not out yet retry with longer times. Just remember your ECU is a bit slow when it comes to trowing a code, unless there is a sensor that you left unpluged. Check the sensor that goes in the intake too. Good luck. stefan525

BINGO !!!

that's the most common problem when people change their intake system.

After you have check and make sure the IAT sensor is OK, reset your ECU by removing the ECU/ECM/PCM fuse for about 10 seconds, then put the fuse back and start the car and let it idle until normal operating temperture.

That should solve your problem.
