Received my Blitz skyline drove by Nomura this morning.

After opening the box the first thing I notice was this is step in the right direction for Aoshima. The addition of correct interior and bodywork modifications are very welcome. How every there still are a few problems such as front drive shafts been present (guessing they’ve used the standard R34 chassis part) and if I’m really picky the tyres are Pirelli not the Dunlops that the car normally sports.

A few moulding marks on the bumpers, but the detail is crisp and looks about right. Needs a hole in the back bumper for a tow eye.

Decal sheet. No chrome finish on the blue.

Sorry progress is slow, work is a bit busy ATM.

I've corrected the mould lines in the bumpers, added a slot for the rear tow eye, removed the side repeaters (side markers) and primered the body in grey. That showed up a few sink marks on the front bumper and flash on the grill. They've been repaired and I'll prime the body white on Monday. I'll take few photos first because in grey its easier to see the body kit details.

The chassis and the interior tub have got *erm* a bit wrong :frown:. Everything was going right, first primer, then silver paint for colour base, then masked up the engine/gearbox and rad, then painted them in Citroen Poseidon blue. Went to lunch, came back and there covered in tiny bubbles :shakehead. DAM. I'm guessing the paint has been affected by the cold, as the can was kept in the shed. Anyway have to strip that on Monday to. I'm not happy with the colour match to the real car anyway.

Right work has slacked off in the run down to Christmas so I have more time on my hands for sneeky work time modelling  .

When I last posted the paint had gone wrong. Well the chassis and interior took a bath for a few hours in some 4 DOT, then where repainted Tamiya TS-50 on silver which gives a better match to Nissan Bayside blue.

The body is in the later stages of painting. Probably finish that tomorrow.
