IAT Sensor Modfication and Relocation

Does anyone here have experience with relocating or modifying their
IAT sensor? And what about that company "Hurricane" that offers fixed and variable resistors for your IAT sensor . Does anyone know how to contact Hurricane or do they only give you thier address, etc. once you check out?

My friend created a custom intake for his 96' Ranger and remounted/relocated the IAT sensor in the custom made hose with good results. That sensor fiddles with ignition timing and injector timing. It makes the computer think the air coming in is colder.
The fixed resister will probably be about 10k Ohms. The only difference is that Hurricane will charge you way more than the actual resister costs, plus will give you awful instructions on installing the resister. I think they usually run about 10¢ for the fixed resister.
A varaible resister is also know as a potentiometer.

If you're really not sure, you might not even waste the money. The increase from doing this is extremely minimal. I have also heard of a lot of people having problems doing this. Not the install, but having negative effects on their computer readings from the IAT.
I myself have never tried it. If I want more power, I usually take the difficult route and change things like the camshaft, fuel injectors, computer, etc. It's the only way to get good, real, worth while results. The only problem is that you just cannot change one thing. You need to change the major things, then work out the modifications for the smaller things in order for any modification to really make a increase.
