I dont know who all of you read my loathing of the 2.5 thats in my cutlass calais.. but im over it and moving on to a 2.3HO(bag)
Im not too knowledgeable of the manual transmission GM used on these cars so im asking. I know of the getrag/muncie hm-282 and the isuzu 5-speed. Those are the first 2 that come to mind, anybody know if there are others that are better? I recall one that has an lsd, true?
Next question is.. does anybody know what years/makes/models of applicable fwd gm cars that have the same bellhousing/mounts, and etc?
I have a 2.3 sitting around that im going to put in my 91 calais which currently has a 2.5 auto. Right now im just trying to find specifics on some things so i dont have any snags.
I have the entire cradle from a 1989 or 90 cutlass ciera. Im pretty sure but not 100% if it will be a direct bolt in on my calais, anybody know for sure? Im assuming all N-car engines and cradles are swappable.
_to be perfectly honest im just winging it on the info i have, i honestly do not know what transmissions are the best, options, bellhousings, etc..
