Help me Diagnose my Problem PLEASE!!

My 1983 533i won't start more than once. Someone told me that the Magnito or magneto in the distributor is bad and once it gets the slight bit warm, it won't get spark! Is this a possible cause? It sounds like the engine is not getting fuel. It turns but won't start. Also, is the magnito in the distributor cap?? Or does the whole distributor need to be changed??

Get spark tested and get your fuel pressure tested.

If you have spark but no fuel, then you go from there. If you have fuel but no spark, you go from there.
