Pics of my painted interior

Finally got a few pics of the interior of my ride. It's not vaccumned so....imagine that it's clean. Anyone who has painted interior, post it!

I sanded everything with fine sandpaper, cleaned them off with alcohol to make sure there was no ArmorAll or anything on them. Then I primed, then painted. I let everything sit out overnight before I put them back in. I bought all the stuff at Advance Auto Parts. Regular spray paint. Make sure you prime first or it won't spray on even. Good Luck!

Is that the Type R style auto shift knob? I was wondering what that would look like in my car and now I know... I allways thought it would look kinda weird being the only silver piece in the car but it really looks kinda nice. I like it.

it's like the type r, but it doesn't say type r on the top and it's gunmetal. ifound it off of some off seller on Ebay. I paid $10 shipping, but it was only $9.99 so i still made out better than the ones that were $23 and $7 and $8 shipping

On the side airvents, did you tape the air vent part off or took it out?

I took everything out. The vents are just held in by metal clips and everything else unscrews. This was my first attempt at something like this and I didn't want to risk ruining other $$$ parts in my car.

yea i did the same as you but did the entire interior(all the parts that would come out)
i taped off the air vent slits part when i painted the outer part of it silver
then i covered the outer part and painted the vents white

i'll post some pics when i get my digi back

so is primer a different kind of paint that you paint on first? then you paint the main color on? i have never done this, so i'm confused.

I wouldn't call it paint, but yeah you put it on first. It covers the area to make sure it's clean and ready for the paint to stick basically.

Yeah, if you try to paint the parts without primer, it will seem like some spots will reject the paint, causing a "fisheye" effect. It sounds cool, but actually sucks. Primer also helps to even it all out. Just be careful not to over spray when you're painting. I did in one spot and and have a nasty drip that I just can't stop obsessing over. It all turns out pretty nice if you take your time. I would love to do my whole interior to go from grey to black, but I'm scared scared scared!! Good luck!!

I trimmed my interior with white. Since the interior is black. I did the exact same process. Sanding, primer, and painting. Everything looks nice, except the center console which was messed up when someone broke into my car and tried to steal my cd player. They were sooo stupid, they tried to pry it out with a screw driver. So when they couldn't get it to pop out, they took it out on my paint job. :(
Even though they got my subs, box and amp, I am still grateful that I still have a cd player.
