Assembly aids...

Few questions.

Could I use elmer's glue on my models to put them together for mock-up, prior to changing things, scratchbuilding, etc?

Granted, I still need to get the stuff apart. I'll have to try this, but if someone can get back to me, that'd be great.

Also, with DixieArt. They say they have a 9.95 shipping charge. Do you think they're going to charge that whenever I only order a nozzle for my HP-CR? that's ridiculous, put it in an envelope, I'll buy two!

Hmmm, Elmers is good stuff for gluing clear parts that can take a long time to dry, but I wouldn't use it for mock ups. It takes a long time to dry, and is fairly permanent once dry. I would just use tiny drops of super glue. It will hold together for dry-fitting, and then pop apart afterwards.

Sorry, but I can't tell you anything about DixieArt... never used them.

Definately. White glue will work fine for mocking up- and you can just peel it off afterwards. Liquid mask does just as well, but Elmer's is so convenient....

I know it would peel off, but would my glued parts pop back apart?

I may just have to try it on the firebird junker in my basement.

'Poster tack' is useful for temp assembly.
it really depends on how many things you are mocking up and how much pressure you are applying to the pieces.

You could try a local hobby, craft or art store for your airbrush tip. If they don't have it in stock they might be able to order it for you.

There is a certain cost of fillng an order, generating an invoice, picking an item, shipping etc. Some companies include the costs in their prices,and often have a high mininum order, while others charge a flat fee and no minimum order.
