Alternator Replacement

Hello.
I'm fairly certain that I need to replace the alternator in my 1991 Mazda 626 automatic (no turbo). I am wondering if it is something I can do myself, with limited mechanical experience? I've done things to the car before, such as replacing the thermostat and giving it a tune-up (sparks plug/air filter replacement). But, this is one task I'm not very confident about, simply because I don't know how difficult it is to take the old alternator off, and put in the new one.
Can anyone give me some direction here? Is this something a person with limited mechanical experience can accomplish?
Thank you.

If you haven't already done it or had it done let me know, there are a few difficulties but with a few tips I think you can do it. My email is [email protected]. I can walk you through it, I just did it myself.
