'94 wont start

I have a '94 grand am when the key is turned the engine goes to turn a couple of time then there is just a clicking sound.

Any ideas (is it poss the starter)

I gotta ask, how old is your battery and have you tried getting a jumpstart. Your symptoms are typical of a low battery charge if the engine doesn't turn fast like it normally does but instead turns fairly slow and then starts clicking. Possibly time for a new battery or alternator.
