Sr20 engine swap question

Alright guys I need a new engine apparently. My Ga16 engine only has 130,000 miles, it's burning oil, it stalls all the time, and its just in general bad shape. The mechanic told me I should just get a new engine instead of trying to fix this one. I'm gonna take it somewhere else to see if they say the same thing but for now my question is. Anybody know the general price of an SR20 engine swap. Also how much more expensive is an SR20det than just the SR20 and any suggestions as to where I can get one.

you can get a sr20 for like 2g, but the sr20det is more about 3500. installation for either engine will cost about 1000, unless you know your mechanic personally and maybe get a cheaper rate.
if you have the cash you should go the sr20det way. it has forged internals, and 300hp is a intercooler, turbo, and a electronic boost controller away. the sr20det's internals have been known to go +20psi.
on where to get one im not quite sure, im sure there is some on ebay, but i dont trust them that much.

Yeah, these prices are ridiculous. You can get an SR20DE for $300-500. Even a nice Euro 10:1 DE for $700. Shit, you can get an SR20VE for $1800 and a DET for about $1500.

really...if they are so cheap, then i guess everywhere i look on the net, they are hiked up....sorry....i knew the regualr sr was cheap, i wasn't so sure about the dets tho. btw, wats the diff between a sr20de and a sr20ve?

the SR20VE has VVL . and has higher compression like a honda V-tec but with a larger power band. and the Nissan badge:D
