I have a new suspension and brake system in my car along with new tires and rims, new cold air intake, new exhaust, and a body kit on my cavi. now i have enough money for ether a turbo kit or a superchrager. after reaing about all the bull shit you have to go threw with the turbos i desided to go with a supercharger. but the question is what size can i get? i have a 2.2L 99 coupe.

Heres my honest opinion: 2.2 OHV is NOT worth speed mods. You will drop around $3000 to get that thing s/c'd and you will only make around 160-175 hp and probably wont even see 14 second 1/4 miles. 2.2 OHV is just not a good speed platform.
Not to be a big douche, but thats my two cents. Either way good luck.

I think he quoted himself from another thread.
I don't agree with him though. It won't cost $3000 to SC it! And yeah, it may not have 200+HP, but it will be fast, and a blast to drive!

Superchargers are around $2500 arent they? Then you would have to do the supporting mods and thats over $3000. 3 grand for around 50-60 hp is kinda steep, but yeah you two are right a boosted Cavy would be fun. Theres one guy in town that boosted his Civic EX. BOOSTED it runs a 15.1 1/4! Destroying him in a Cavalier would be awesome as hell.... cough JAYSON cough......

I'm sure of a few supporting mods. But what are most of the supporting mods.

You'd need intake and a full exhaust for sure, and I would get bigger injectors and fuel pump and with those you'd need a fuel controller and logger of some sort. You should probably also get different plugs (colder I think), plug wires, and all that other ingnition system jazz.

along w/ ignition and other things, u might have to break into the internals if running over 7 psi of boost. my friend w/ a turbo integra cracked his head and a connecting rod b/c he thought it would be fun to run 10 lbs of boost on a stock v-tec, not smart and all the new parts cost him around 1500-2000, so i would say rebuild the internals if u decide to go w/ forced induction of any kind

As long as he stays in the 5-7 PSI range he should be fine on stock internals. Anything more and he's asking for it.
