Keyless Entry 2000 Jimmy

I resently purchased a 2000 Jimmy SLS 2dr 4x4. After reading the manual and looking at the setup of the tailgate, it seems that it may have been originally equipt with remotes. I called the used car dealership who I purchased it from, they were useless. Is there anyway I can use the VIN to find out if it is equipt for keyless entry.

This may or may not help. My Dad bought a used Crown Victoria that had the keypad entry on the door handle. He wasnt given the codes when he bought it. There was a number in the trunk lid that he gave the guy at the Ford dealer and they looked it up on the computer. So, maybe if you take you vehicle to a GMC dealer, they might be able to help.

to my knowledge, see i own the same one and if it is locked and not unlocking you wont get it open because it it the actuator that is bad, anyway the remote you need for your jimmy is fccid KOBUTIBT has 4 buttons, but the 3 one will work.I bought mine on ebay for like 25 bucks, programming is a sinch, if i remember right, sit in driver seat hold down lock on door cycle key 3 times then while still holding down lock press and hold lock and unlock on remote until locks cycle....

The best way to confirm is to call a Chevy or GMC dealership with your VIN number. The Parts department can confirm if you have the factory receiver and if you require the # 15732805 or # 16245100-29 remotes.
