Hello everyone this is my first post in this forums. Im new to the truck scene so ive been reading a lot so I dont ask questiosn that have been asked 300 times lol. Basically im looking for help on turning the basic 2000 chevy s10 ls fleetside with a 2.2L with 5sp into something with much better performance. I read that doing a v6 swap cost about the same as a v8 swap. What I cant seem to find is where online I can start getting prices for these. I want to upgrade the engine, supspension, braking, and transmission. I tried searching google with the terms like chevy s10 performance, chevy s10 motors, and other things liek that. Ive already read the list of what I would need along with the motor to do the swap. I just cant find prices and actual explanations of a lot of the parts. Any help will be greatly appreciated from the truck newb.
thanx, Jason.

Try this on Google, and you'll see a couple
Chevy s10 v8 engine swap
There are really 2 ways to get a V8 powered S10.
1 way is to build it. You can get someone else to do all the work, but you'll need very deep pockets
The second way is to just buy the S10 that already has a V8 with it
The conversion parts can be bought trough Advanced Adapters, or you can just make your own.
A few people on this forum have done the job, and will probably assist you when you need advice

read the stuff in my signature, and i have a centerforce dual friction clutch waiting on spring time. next is a computer chip/module to remove the speed limiter, and a cold air intake. i still havent found any major engine mods like cams, pistons, or anything like that.

ok I see what you did. Ive done alot of reading and found out that the 2.2L isnt worth the money to try and make it faster. Which is why you cant find cams and pistons and such I assume. I own a 2004 Nissan spec V with a 2.5L 4 cylinder and that thing is pretty quick. 175hp and 180lbs of tq w/a 6spd. I know the 2.2L wont ever be that quick so im just gonna swap it out. Most likely with the 4.3L vortec v6.
I found used engines here http://www.cherry-auto.com/index.phtml?year=2000&make=CHEVROLET&liter=4.3&part_label=LONG+BLOCK&search_engine=+Search+&id=2104
along with the 4L60e transmission

Are these reasonable prices for these? thanx for any more info. I dont want a v8, just the v6.
