JE pistons and rods any good for a stroker?

I'm trying to put the right combination of pistons and rods together to end up with a nice stroker motor for my 95 Tsi Talon.

One local speed shop insists on Using JE pistons and rods. Yet I've heard that Ross pistons and Eagle rods are the best. I will most likely be using my 7 bolt. (hopefully won't crankwalk) with a Galant crank. Oil squirters removed, balance shaft removed. Should I be notching the block, or shaving the skirts?

I believe that I can go up to a 2.3L with the 4G63. I'm also debating going to a 4G64 from a Galant. I've also heard of using a (shamed to say) Hyundai motor that uses the same 4G64 casting.

Anyone's experience building a stroker motor would be a huge asset to me and I would be eternally greatfull! :1zhelp:

My :2cents:: if you really want to build a stroker, get a 6 bolt. I've heard of people using 2g pistons, 1g rods, and a 4gcs crank (thats the one from the hyundai) and I think thats what I am going to do. Not sure yet, but I think if you are going to do internals why the fuck not stroke it right? Either way, good luck.

You need Stoker specific pistons with the wrist pin mooved 6mm up. 1g rods will be fine for 500bhp.
