E150 has a few issues

The vehicle is a 99 e-150 with a 4.6 work van...

1. It seems that my torque converter is having problems locking up. I get a rumble every now and again. Is this issue easily fixed? I can make it rumble and I can tap the brake during the rumble and it goes away. It has got to be electrical....

2 My heat/AC blower speed switch is messed up. All I have is high or low. How tricky is it to dismantle the dash to get to it. Do you think I could pull the radio and get to it from there?

3. Front brakes on these things are crap. I just replaced some pads on the drivers side the were worn completely crooked. Literaly the top of the pad was worn to the metal and the bottom looked new. This blew my mind. What is the deal with that. Something get stuck and it never freed its self? any ideas.

Thanks in advance.

I was having the same brake problems problems with a 97 . Check the threads on the bottom caliper bolt by removing the caliper and screwing the bolt back in. if you can wiggle the bolt at at all, they are probably binding when you apply brake pressure causing only the top of the caliper to slide. Mine were really sloppy and one evernually pulled right out while driving. Dealer parts guy told me it was probably due to being overtightened??? I had to tap out the hole to the next size and bore out the slide on my drill press. It worked fine for a while until the threads got sloppy again. Ended up having to replace the caliper mounting bracket (not fun). Seems like a bad design.
