Clutch sticking

Ok, so a friend of mine has a 90 or 91 LS and his clutch depresses fine, but it sticks down for about 2 or 3 seconds then pops out really fast. Any ideas?

that would be cable.
Sounds like maybe there is a problem with the throw out bearing hanging up on the input shaft or something?

Thats what I thought since there are no obstructions along the cable and we hit lever on the trans. with some pennatrating oil. So you think replace the throw out bearing, or is it just out of place?
