NA to Turbo

So, I am doing up an 88 that is currently NA, was wondering if there is anything else I have to change before I put a Turbo motor into it.

What is a good turbo system to go with? As the motor I am picking up does not have a turbo with it.

What size should I go with? and will I have to change the ECU?

Cold Air Intake would be the next step after the turbo motor is in for me. Is there much difference between manufacturs fir them or?

Thanks Morgan

Othere than full TII drivetrain, hubs, brakes. There is not a hole lot you can do without the motor in the actual car.

Turbo system, well to be honest i dont think there are many companies making full replacement turbo systems for the FC any longer. Search HKS as they did at one time make one that was quite nice.
As for the ECU you will want to get some sort of fuel controller in there and a FCD.

I dont think anyone makes a CAI for the TII. All the ones i have seen were custom made units.

Hmmm, Rotary Specialties in Calgary said there was a CAI system for them... not sure if they made it or what?

So to drop that Turbo motor in I need to redo the whole drivetrain?

The stock 4 wheel discs won't suffice for stopping?

What's the main difference between the TII and the NA Drivetrain? as I don't know anywhere in town where I can pick up TII parts...

Teh NA tranny is junk, very weak and bad ratios. The driveshaft from tranny to diff is different, diff is different, axels are different. And TII brakes are much better than the NA ones :P

Im not aware of a true CAI for the TII, but i may be wrong. i have made them before but never seen one from a manufactuere.

Hmm alrighty, I guess I will have to call 7 specialties in Calgary to see what they have for TII parts. Hopefully I can find them. What's the difference from the NA tothe TII brakes? I don't see there being much if any?

How did you go about making the CAI system for your TII?

I didnt make a CAI for my personal cars, i see no point in it at all, thats why i have a IC :P

Twin piston aluminum front calipers, vented rotors, rear dual piston calipers. TII brakes are pretty dam impressive for stcok braking stuff.

well a CAI on a turbo, lets brake this down

take a cold air charge, send it hurtling towards a MASSIVLY hot turbo, now that cold air is SUPER hot. Then it is passed through the IC (cools it down alot, depending on what IC you have, stock sucks), and then to the TB.

So a CAI on a turbo car is pointless, just something a companie came up with to help you part with your money.

Ahhh sounds like a plan, I'll steer clear of it.
