I'm really new to this forum....and to fixing my car. I own a '95 Jetta and my MIL warning light won't go off, and was wondering how I can find out what the problem is myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I guess this isn't a noob problem, because no one else knows what to do.

Well its not really a noob problem but is one that costs some money. Dealerships and auto places normally charge 120 or so just to hook up the OBD tool. I dont know if you have an OBD II or I but i was able to pick up the OBD II tool for about 120 and have been able to use it many times since, hence saving a lot of money for me and my friends. I dont know where you might be able to get one if your car is OBD 1 or how well it works but you may wanna look into that. With this tool you can view the codes and also clear them so the light goes off. If your car is OBD II the socket is on the right hand side of the center dash next to the ashtray...hope this helps
