Blazer not getting fuel? won't stay running

I have a 1991 S10 Blazer. Have had it only one week. It would start rough but as it warmed up it ran OK. Now the only way to start it is to keep pumping the gas really fast but it will not keep running. I just put a new fuel filter in so it's not that. I had a car that did that once and they put in a new control module and that worked. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Terri

Scan it and check if the temp sensor reads actual temp when cold, also check fuel pressure.

I will have to take it in to have it scanned but is there anything I can try myself that you may think it could be? Would fuel pressure regulator do this or idle air control valve, any other ideas?
Thanks

Check to see if there is adequate vacuum from the manifold port and carb ports. It could be a bad IAC sensor (about 40 bucks) or a clogged catalytic converter (about 175.00) or muffler (about 45 bucks). If you notice back pressure instead of vacuum on the ports it is likely the muffler or cat converter. Of course all of the sensors will be off if you have excessive back pressure. Another tell tell sign is excessive oil leakage from valve cover gaskets, rear main seal, and excessive build-up in the carb.

Thanks for the reply. Had a mechanic check it out, got it running but it still always stalled when cold. I searched this site and one thing that came up was coolant temperature sensor. It runs better, doesn't stall as easily now when cold but still not totally running right. I keep seeing things about cleaning or replacing the IAC but I don't know where exactly it is and does anyone have a picture of one so I know what I'm looking for. Thanks, Terri
