How long does a small block last before it dies on average in a car or a light truck? From your experience.
In normal city life not to pampered and not abused too much. How long would that last in perfect conditions with syntetic oil and like clock maintance?
Iam looking for numbers.
one of my previous small blocks which was abused a lot died at 230000 miles. now i have another one with 130000miles running strong.

My father in law has one with over 300k on it and it purrs like a kitten!!!
My 88 needs overhauled it's at 152k, but it was a municipally owned vehicle and it was really rode hard. Small blocks are great engines!!!
