I'm looking for a new engine for a 93 civic hatchback cx. What can I get for a grand or less? What should I be looking for? This is an unexpected problem but I don't want to get rid of the car. Theres a blown head gasket and I would rather pay the extra couple hundred and get a new motor than have it repaired. I found some information that says a B18C would be a direct bolt in....anyone have anymore info on that motor?

for less than $1000, start looking into any SOHC. try using the search function. it will yield you alot of results.

bingo i picked up a d16z6 with tranny for $150. then a p28 ecu for about $100 (ebay). wire in the vtec to the ecu and your good to go.
you can use the left over $750 to do a diy rebuild with hi-compression 75.5mm pistons for this kind of budget you can get them for $200. get the block honed and decked for $185 at kms engine development they do excellent work(honda-performance.com). tuner toy rods($225) and a oem gasket kit for a few hundred dollars. this will give you a some more gogo fun :naughty:
